Carl Soriano Photography ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to carlsphotos.com, our social media lead forms and advertising, and our client booking and delivery systems.

1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
-
Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
-
Event or session details (date, location, type of session)
-
Payment and billing information (processed by our third-party booking platform, not stored by us directly)
-
Any messages, questions, or details you share with us through contact forms, lead ads, or email
Information collected through advertising:
-
If you submit an Instant Form (Lead Ad) through Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares the information you provide in that form with us (typically name, email, and phone number).
-
We may use tracking technologies (such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tracking) on our website to measure ad performance and show relevant ads to past visitors. These tools may collect data about your visits to our site, such as pages viewed and actions taken.
Information collected at events (facial recognition / biometric identifiers):
-
At select events, we may use SpotMyPhotos or similar real-time photo delivery services that use facial detection technology to help attendees find and receive their own photos.
-
Use of this technology is opt-in: attendees choose to participate, and biometric identifiers (such as a facial scan used to match photos) are collected only with consent, in accordance with Washington's biometric privacy law (RCW 19.375).
-
Photos collected through this opt-in process are not used to train artificial intelligence models.
Information from cookies and similar technologies:
-
Our website may use cookies to remember preferences, understand site traffic, and support advertising tools described above.

These providers may access personal information only as needed to perform their services and are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes, except as described in their own privacy policies (for example, Meta's and Google's use of data for advertising measurement).
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including ongoing client relationships, legal or tax recordkeeping, and as required by our contracts and service providers.

This policy is a starting template based on the tools and services currently used by Carl Soriano Photography. It is not a substitute for legal advice. Given the use of biometric/facial-detection technology at events (SpotMyPhotos), we recommend a licensed attorney review this policy — particularly the biometric disclosure section — before use with government-adjacent or large-scale events, to confirm full compliance with Washington's biometric privacy law and any applicable state laws in areas where you shoot.
